Greeting card based upon a sketch by William Dowling in Newgate prison, a fellow Chartist. William Cuffay was an influential figure in Chartism. Son of an escaped slave and a Kentish woman. A tailor, he was black-listed as a result of his trade union activity. He was transported to Tasmania for life for conspiracy and later paroled
